Lighting The Way Gala 2012

Congratulations to our 2012 Ray of Light award winners: Missouri Foundation for Health and Robbyn Wahby. Both have been and continue to be supporters of United 4 Children. We will continue to do great work in the community for our children and youth.

Thank you to our Chairs Sue Campbell and Valerie Anders who helped in the efforts of making the evening such a great success, to our board members, staff and all those who gave to this event, we are humbled by your generosity and commitment. We ARE United 4 Children.

NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE!
Child Nutritional Services Recipe Book

These recipes have been carefully developed with both kids' taste and YOU - the food preparer - in mind.

We hope that as you read through and use these recipes you will find that they meet your needs. We have written the recipes with a limited number of steps, bearing in mind the equipment you might have available.

To support the idea of lowered fat, many of the recipes call for reduced-fat cheeses as well as reduced-fat mayonnaise, low-fat milk, and low-fat yogurt.
A menu of these recipes will be a healthy experience for children. You will be giving those needed nutrients and energy - without a lot of fat. You will also be helping children learn what it means to eat for good health.

Click here to view a sample of the many nutritional, fun recipes available in the Child Nutritional Services Recipe Book.

Click here to download the order form (order date has been extended to June 6)

Exciting News... CDCA and St. Louis for Kids Merge

CDCA and St. Louis for Kids are proud to announce the merging of two long-standing community-based organizations. For the full press release click here.

What does CDCA Do?

CDCA was founded in 1969 as a result of the deep interest of a number of child care center directors in establishing a central organization for child care. At the same time the United Way of St. Louis was interested in assuring that high quality standards were in place in child care centers receiving United Way support.

CDCA helps:

Families

            Child Care Professionals

                                       Employers

                                                      Community Leaders

Families
CDCA helps families find child care and provides tools to assist them in their efforts to identify care that is high quality, affordable and appropriate for each family's unique needs.  You can access this referral service by calling us directly at 314-531-1412, submitting your request on-line for us to do your search, or do your own search by using our new and improved online search feature.  Specialized referral and support services are available for families whose children have special needs - just ask your Referral Specialist.

Child Care Professionals

CDCA works with child care professionals, child care centers and family child care homes to improve the quality and availability of child care through workshops, state approved online training, customized Affiliate Services and on-site observation and consultation to support programs in including children with special needs.   Visit our Training Calender or call us at 314-531-1412 for more information.   We also sponsor the Child and Adult Care Food Program in both Missouri and Illinois...and more!

"I'm not sure my program would be as good as it is or even in business. if it had not been for the support of CDCA".  Karla Olson, The Berry Patch

Employers
CDCA works with employers like Washington University to respond to the specific work and family needs of their employees by offering a variety of fee-based and consulting services.

Community Leaders
CDCA serves as a positive voice for child care in the community by collecting data, conducting research and being an advocate.  We help improve the quality of child care within the community through programs such as 24:1 Initiative.
